SIMPLE NATURAL DIY HAIR MASK

I love pampering myself - I usually make Saturday evenings my spa time - set aside for me to just completely treat my body for all it does for me!
I recently dyed my hair blonde and because of this I have noticed my hair is very dry - especially at the ends. So I did some research and came up with an amazing hair mask that gives my hair the moisture and nutrition it needs!
I love homemade products, especially because I know exactly what I’m putting on or in my body and can feel extra good that there are no potentially harmful ingredients - in my opinion, the more natural, the better! Here’s the ingredients for the mask I’ve been using lately:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 ripe avocado - avocado is super rich in fatty amino acids and vitamins B and E which helps promote healthy hair growth.
1 teaspoon of cinnamon - improves blood circulation in the scalp and is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal which fights dandruff.
1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil - coconut oil has deep penetrative properties and has the ability to get right into the hair shaft for repair from the inside.
1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil - Olive oil conditions hair, making it smooth and silky while improving its elasticity and strength.
TOOLS
2 small mixing bowls
1 mortar and pestle
1 knife
1 cutting board
1 applicator brush (optional)
1 shower cap (optional)
If you have a more full head of hair like me, or long hair, I recommend you be more generous with your ingredients. You want to make sure to completely coat your whole head for maximum effectiveness!
Preparing for pampering is so much fun! I like to put on some relaxing tunes - Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky are a couple of my favorites to listen to for spa time in the winter! I also like to pour myself a glass of whatever I fancy during pamper time. Click here for a delicious cocktail recipe I’m obsessed with right now! Once you have everything you need, here’s the directions to make this amazing winter hair mask!
DIRECTIONS
Mash the avocado in your mortar and pestle
Transfer the mashed avocado into the mixing bowl and mix the avocado and cinnamon together
Mix the coconut oil and olive oil in the other mixing bowl
Apply the avocado-cinnamon mixture to your scalp with the applicator brush
Massage your scalp to really get the ingredients in there!
Apply the coconut-olive oil mixture to your hair, avoiding the scalp area
Once your whole head is a delicious mix of fruit, spices and oil, put the shower cap on and leave it for 30-60 minutes (the longer, the better!)
Et voila! There you have it, you’re happier healthier head of hair!
For maximum effectiveness, I recommend you put a hair mask on once every week to keep your luscious locks super shiny and glam.
