THE PERFECT BATH

Guess what?! You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars going to the spa to have the spa experience! I would like to share with you how I create my own spa right in my own bathroom by telling you how I take the perfect bath.
I usually give myself about 2-3 hours when I really want to pamper myself… and it usually falls on a Saturday evening so I can really relax.
Here are some things I do to create the perfect bath:
The first thing I always do is start drawing the bath - I can get everything ready while the tub is filling up so I can get in the bath as soon as the tub is filled and is the perfect temperature!
Be generous with the salt - I like to use epsom salts in my bath. Epsom salts have a variety of health and beauty benefits including easing muscle strain, drawing toxins from the body, exfoliation and pore purification. How much should you use? My rule of thumb is 1-2 cups and I put them in right after I start filling the tub to get the dissolving process started.
Make sure the bathroom is neat, tidy and clean. I am definitely a minimalist (click here for my minimalist bathroom tour!) and really enjoy spaces that are neat and clean and organized without any clutter.
Draw your bath - while the tub is filling up, get ready!
Make myself a cute lil’ drink - I like sippin on something during my bath - I alway go for something cool and refreshing in case I start to feel hot in the bathtub. Click here for an amazing drink I love to make on the weekend!
Light a naturally scented candle - candles really set the mood. Click here for my current favourite candle.
Dim the lights - there’s something very special about dimming the lights - I love a relaxing ambiance!
Mask it up - I put on both a hair and a face mask of my choosing - click here for a DIY hair mask and click here for a DIY face mask!
Place a big fluffy towel and a smaller hair towel aside for when you get out of the bath. I really love this hair towel because it stays on my head when I’m drying off my body.
Have a spare hand towel on hand to roll up to use as a neck pillow when you’re in the bath. Comfort is super important!
It’s time! the bath is ready for you. Carefully get into the tub and relaxxxxxxx - you deserve it!
I usually stay in the tub for about 30 minutes and just be alone with my thoughts - click here for my Thoughts and Attitudes post if you’re interested in how to be a happy person!
Once the 30 minutes is up, I usually then start my weekly beauty maintenance routine - click here if you’re interested in that!
